Terms & Conditions
Bookings
You can make a booking by phone, email, or through the booking form on our website.
Most bookings require a deposit to secure your place. Once you confirm, we will send you an invoice (usually bank transfer
Payment within two days of event confirms your booking, and full meeting point details will be provided after payment.
Refunds & Cancellations
Client Cancellations
No refunds will be issued for:

cancellations made within 72 hours of the hike
-
no-shows on the day
Cancellations by WicklowHikes.ie
If we cancel a hike for any reason, you will receive a full refund of any payments made.
WicklowHikes.ie is not responsible for any additional costs you may have incurred such as transport, travel arrangements, or accommodation.
Scheduled events may be cancelled if minimum numbers are not reached. In this case, all prepaid bookings will be refunded in full.
Weather Conditions
Mountain weather can change quickly. For safety reasons, WicklowHikes.ie may:

change the planned route
-
move the hike to a lower/less exposed location
-
adjust timings if necessary
Under no circumstances can WicklowHikes.ie be held responsible for weather conditions or changes required due to safety concerns.
Equipment Requirements
For safety and comfort, most hikes require:

waterproof hiking boots with good grip and ankle support
-
waterproof jacket and trousers
-
warm layers
-
hat and gloves (often needed year-round)
Participants must inform the guide in advance of any relevant medical conditions.
If a guide determines that a participant is not adequately equipped or is otherwise unsuitable for the hike, participation may be refused for safety reasons.
Disclaimer
Hiking in Wicklow's hills and mountains involves inherent risks, including:

uneven and steep terrain

cliffs and exposed rock
-
rapidly changing weather
-
slips, trips, or falls
-
physical exertion that may trigger underlying medical conditions
Participants are responsible for assessing their own fitness level before joining any hike.
While we make every effort to provide accurate information about routes and difficulty levels, WicklowHikes.ie accepts no responsibility for errors or omissions, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation.
Respect for Landowners
Please respect Wicklow's landowners and farming communities by:

closing gates behind you

avoiding damage to fences
-
keeping distance from livestock
Responsible access helps us maintain positive relationships with landowners and keep routes open.
Insurance
WicklowHikes.ie has public liability insurance for guiding services.
However, this does not cover clients personally.
We strongly recommend:

personal public liability insurance
-
holiday/travel insurance
-
health insurance that covers hiking activities
Please check your own policy to ensure you are properly covered.
Data Privacy
WicklowHikes.ie collects only the information necessary to manage your booking (such as name, email address, and phone number).
If you pay using PayPal, they will provide us with your email address. All PayPal transactions are covered by the PayPal Privacy Policy.
Your personal information will only be used to communicate with you regarding your booking and will never be shared with third parties unless required by law.
