What to Bring
Lugnaquilla is a full-day mountain hike, so proper clothing and equipment are essential. Please bring sturdy hiking boots with good grip, a waterproof jacket and trousers, warm layers, hat and gloves, and a small backpack with at least 1.5–2 litres of water. Pack a good lunch, high-energy snacks, and an extra warm layer as conditions on the summit can be much colder than the valley below. In summer, sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended; in winter, additional insulation and waterproof gloves are important. Your guide will advise on specific conditions in the days before the hike.

Belmont Woods, Little Sugarloaf & Bray Head Guided Hike
Experience one of North Wicklow's most scenic and varied guided walks, combining woodland trails, mountain views, coastal scenery and local history in a single unforgettable day.
Your adventure begins at Belmont Woods, where peaceful forest trails and historic estate lands provide a gentle introduction to the hike. From here, we make our way towards Little Sugarloaf, with the option of reaching the summit or taking an easier route around the mountain, depending on the preferences and fitness levels of your group.
As we continue, spectacular views open up across the Wicklow Mountains, offering a wonderful perspective of Ireland's largest mountain range. On clear days, you'll enjoy panoramic views stretching across Dublin Bay to Howth Head and Lambay Island. When conditions are exceptionally clear, it is even possible to catch a glimpse of the mountains of Wales across the Irish Sea.
The route then continues towards Bray Head, where dramatic coastal scenery awaits. From the summit area, enjoy sweeping views of the coastline, Bray Promenade, Dublin Bay and the surrounding countryside. Along the way, your guide will share stories of local history, folklore, wildlife and the unique landscapes that make this part of Wicklow so special.
The hike finishes in Bray, where visitors can relax on the seafront, enjoy a meal in one of the town's many cafés or restaurants, or take the DART back to Dublin.
